Choosing Otter Moving was the easiest decision we made during our most recent move. From beginning to end, both the customer service team and the moving team were a pleasure to work with. Joshua from the sales team was always responsive and accommodating as we had to make several changes to our initial reservation throughout the process, and he made it an stress-free process. Daniel's team on the day of our move was also phenomenal! They communicated with us consistently, arrived on time as scheduled, were extremely organized and careful with our belongings, and worked efficiently and seamlessly to get our stuff moved to our new apartment in record time. Everyone we worked with was extremely friendly and reliable. And their prices are much more reasonable than those of their competitors. I recommend Otter Moving to all my friends and family who want a hassle-free move with a team who genuinely cares about their customers and goes above and beyond to deliver service of the highest caliber.

Describe the entire experience with one word? No problem… EXCELLENT!!! The movers showed up at the scheduled time at pick-up and drop off locations (pick-up was even earlier than I expected). The entire process of picking up our queen-sized mattress, dropping it off and removing the old one, took about 15 mins combined! I am extremely satisfied with the entire process and will definitely recommend Otter Moving & Storage to anyone who needs their services. I’m glad I went with OMS over other vendors. And “otters”? I mean, does it get more adorable than that? I think not 🙂

Exceptional NYC Movers – Fast, Budget-Friendly, and Highly Professional!
Petar and the crew from Otter Moving (Truck 57) were absolutely phenomenal! They moved all the items from our storage units on the West Side into our Midtown office, and the entire process was seamless. Otter provided incredibly fair, budget-friendly pricing while maintaining quality. They were lightning-fast and highly professional from start to finish. Navigating Truck 57 into the busy Midtown/Grand Central area on 42nd Street is no easy feat, but they managed the traffic and building access flawlessly.We had a few delicate items that required extra care, and the team handled them with the utmost respect—everything arrived in perfect condition. They are reliable, efficient, and careful movers in NYC. I highly recommend Petar and the crew on Truck 57. Would absolutely use them again!

We used Otter movers for packing and moving our NYC apartment locally. This was a great decision and made the task of moving super easy. Vanja, Jose, and Gerardo were amazing - efficient, thorough and handled everything with care. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a seamless move!

After speaking with a friend who recommended Otter and their experience was 10/10, I felt comfortable moving forward and also so cared for throughout the intake process and beyond.

I hired them to move all my belongings out of storage into a new apartment in Brooklyn (mind you was a 2 story walk up!) End to end they were done in under 3 hours and I didn’t haven’t to worry about quality, care, or timing. I’d absolutely hire them again and wish I would have known about them prior to packing.

Avoid at all costs. This company was a disaster.

1. It’s been a year now since the move, and they still haven’t reimbursed us the amount they promised, which ironically, is only 10% of the damage/loss they caused during the move (computer and camera).

2. Our move was supposed to be two-part due to holidays. The movers arrived 1 hour late for packing/pick-up and the team didn’t say anything until we asked. When booking the move, they told us no need to come the day before to pack and there would be enough time, but 2/3 through the move, they said they wouldn’t be able to finish and movers needed to leave immediately at the end of moving window. We had to call the company negotiating while movers were ready to leave the mess with us. They ended up sending extra help to finish up. And we had to ask the building to extend the elevator hours and luckily they allowed it.

3. On the day of drop-off, they called 45 minutes after the promised time that they were running late, AGAIN, but “it will be fine”. Later they called again with “no we won’t make it”. We had to book hotel for the night, rebook the elevator for the new place, etc., because once again they couldn’t get the job done.

What stunned us most was the lack of communication, professionalism, accountability, and genuine effort to make things right. Delays and mistakes can happen but how they handle it matters more. Throughout this process, we were repeatedly left chasing answers, negotiating solutions ourselves, and dealing with the consequences of their poor planning and execution.

We were so impressed by the team! The guys who showed up were professional, efficient, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. We would absolutely 10/10 recommend Otter to anyone who is moving in NYC.

On time and careful. Completely attentive and professional. Did not coerce with threats of not unloading without a large tip upfront. I was surprised how good they were, considering they had the most competitive price. Really glad that I saved money and used Otter.

We had an above-and-beyond experience with our Otter movers. They were friendly, helpful, and super communicative in our complex, 3-stop move out of a fifth floor walkup delivering to both a storage unit and a house in another state... all in one day! It was a grueling day for them and they had such great attitudes, took such good care, and were so pleasant to work with.

Matt and Rocky (truck 62) were right on time for pick up, quick to load out, professional and efficient, and super helpful in figuring out a tight space to load in at the next place. A pleasure working with them and I would recommend anytime!

David and Truck #34 were fantastic for my move in Manhattan. They arrived right on time and moved me out of my walk-up efficiently. They took great care of my things, and were flexible with their time. I would highly recommend them and will certainly be using them for any future moves!

Good morning the moving crew was absolutely wonderful. They took care of all of our items, wrapped everything efficiently. It was hot so offered them so ice water and they were quick with moving everything out smoothly. They also went over everything that was the inventory so they knew what they needed to take. Moving is stressful enough and we lived at a 3rd floor walk up. They didn't complain about the hike. Heck they wouldn't even let me help them in any way. Kept telling me to sit down and relax while they worked. It was very appreciated and I was so thankful for it. Our last movers from a different company left on a sour note so we were hesitant to hire movers in general. Best movers ever.

Redzo and his team on Truck no.19 were a big help today while moving my apartment. I really liked how careful they were in handling the furniture, disassembling & assembling them, and completing the entire process efficiently and quickly. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move

This was our first time hiring a moving company and not only did they help walk us through the moving process when we first called them, the movers were very efficient packing/unpacking everything and incredibly understanding when our buildings were having elevator problems. 11/10 service that we will definitely be using again if we ever move.

My girlfriend and I recently moved from a 5th-floor walk-up in Manhattan to our new apartment in Brooklyn, and Otter Moving NYC made the entire experience so much easier than I ever expected.

The team packed everything, moved it carefully, and placed it exactly where we wanted it in our new home. We honestly didn't have to lift a finger. What impressed me the most was our heavy IKEA wooden bed. They disassembled it in Manhattan, transported it safely, and rebuilt it perfectly in Brooklyn without any issues.

Beyond the move itself, everyone was incredibly friendly, professional, and genuinely pleasant to be around. Moving in NYC can be stressful, especially with multiple flights of stairs, but they made the whole process feel smooth and worry-free.

My wife and I have now used Otter for 2 years in a row - they have become our go-to movers because of their excellent service and reasonable prices. Their customer service when preparing a quote was friendly and quick, with transparent pricing. The movers themselves are friendly, efficient, and come prepared with all blankets/tape/boxes they need to make sure nothing is damaged in transit. Our most recent move was done by Truck #24 and they were absolutely fantastic. We will keep using them because of people like Daniel and his team. Thank you again for making our move much easier!

I don’t really write many reviews but Otter deserves recognition for all they did for me. Everything from Max working with me over the phone to figure out what I need and being patient while I had to change and add and subtract items to adding a stop to the actual moving day.
When the day came they made sure to call me 30 minutes before arrival, just like I had requested. They were on time. Here I have to say that Viktor and Angel from truck 41 were amazing. They truly were. I actually really enjoyed their company, and honestly I felt bad that they would not let me help them out even though I offered to do so, so many times!
I have a lot of vintage and mid century modern furniture that are priceless to me and they took great care of protecting EVERYTHING and happy to move stuff out of the way in my storage to get the extra furniture and wrapping it up. Everything went so well for me, and I think it took longer than usual because of this and traffic and Otter, true to the company’s policy did not charge more for all the time the move took. It was a hard move and everyone was amazing.
I would highly recommend calling them up and hiring them every time.

Peter and his crew from Truck 57 were absolutely outstanding.

Moving day is always stressful, and what we expected to be a 4-hour move ended up taking nearly 8 hours. Despite the unexpected challenges, Peter and his team remained professional, positive, and reassuring from start to finish. At a time when our stress levels were through the roof, they kept telling us everything would be okay—and then proved it through their actions.

The crew handled a difficult four-flight walk-up without a single complaint. They carefully disassembled and reassembled furniture, protected our belongings, and treated everything with care and respect. Their attention to detail, work ethic, and professionalism never wavered, even as the day went much longer than planned.

What impressed us most was their attitude. They were kind, patient, hardworking, and genuinely cared about making sure our move went smoothly. It’s rare to find a crew that combines efficiency, skill, and such a great customer experience.

This was my first time moving in New York, in the US overall. The movers that came were very nice, treated my things delicately. I just finished unpacking last night and all my pictures etc were not damaged. There were some minor hiccups with regards to logistics but it was swiftly resolved by the manager. He reached out to me on his own and took care of the matter. Overall honest guys and an honest company. I actually would recommend. Initially I was going to give 4 stars, but because the manager was so nice about the issue, I think they deserve the full 5.

The absolute BEST moving experience I could ever ask for! After my original movers never showed up. I called The Otter moving team and within 24hrs they had everything set up for me! They kept in continuous communication from the morning of. To the eta, and arrival. Team 40 was SO helpful. They helped assemble my couch, and mount my
TV. They were incredibly kind and just such a joy to work with. This is the peace of mind you need when going through a stressful situation like moving! THANK YOU EVERYONE! I will be singing your praises to everyone I know!!

Dan helped me book everything and managed my inventory list- he was helping me modify my list until the night before. Then Kemo and Alex came in to move things around 7:30am, and they were awesome. Super efficient and fast, and they were super nice guys! Will be booking Otter again for my next move.

We had such an excellent experience with Boris and Djorje! They were friendly, efficient and timely. They arrived on time and moved us out 2 apartments and into a new one so quickly and without any issues at all. Highly highly recommend otter, they made moving so easy!!

Moved in NYC this month with Otter Moving and Paul was very responsive with the booking and communication. I had a sharp start and the movers arrived punctually. Daniel and his team did my move very quickly and although things started off well and we did an inventory count before moving anything, they ended up leaving an item at the pickup location, which I didn't realize because they never did an inventory count on what they actually packed onto the truck before driving to the drop off location. Daniel insinuated it was my fault and claimed his team was only moving what I verbally told them to move (doesn't that defeat the point of the list then?). At the end, I tipped them well above 25% due to have a few additional boxes on moving day but Daniel seemed disappointed I didn't give more. Was expecting a better experience considering the move started off strong.

Update: The owner reached out to me to help me move the item that was left and was able to take care of quickly. The team member they sent over to help was very kind as well, so my rating is updated to 4 stars.

My third time using them to move!!! Amazing as always and VERY affordable! The workers are very nice and have clear communication! I had team #34 today with David and they got everything done in 1h and 30 minutes!!! 100/10 definitely recommend

Hard-working matt and rocky truck 11 did a great job moving me into my sixth floor walk up. The process for signing up was easy and the company had great communication leading up to and on the day of my move. Showed up right on time and the entire move took just two hours. Would highly recommend.
