I couldn’t recommend this company more oh my GOD!!!! Trust me, they are worth every single penny. From the communication from beginning with Tom; to punctuality, from care… I’m truly blown away. The movers are truly what took it over for me - they are SO fast; SO diligent; SO professional and SO helpful. Thank you Peter; Sebastian; and Gio!!! I feel dramatic but truly look no further. I tossed between a few companies and I’m so glad I went with otter.

I’m putting my things into storage so will update this review after I get my items back and share the storage experience!

Tom & Miro— ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Otter Moving, especially Tom and Miro. They were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They actually showed up early, which was a huge plus since I was traveling from Long Island to Jersey. They were quick and efficient without making me feel like they were rushing or being careless with my stuff.

Tom and Miro were both incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire move. The amount of stuff I had was honestly ridiculous. Yet, they managed to basically play Tetris and get everything into my storage unit.

They also helped me pack up my car, which I really appreciated. They were careful with everything, worked so well together, and just made the whole moving process much easier.

I would 100% recommend Otter Moving to anyone who is looking for movers.

I had my things in storage for about a year. And when I realized I needed to get them out Simon and his team worked with me to find the right day and time for them to deliver everything. When the day came all of my stuff (couch-put together, bed and bed frame, put together, dressers) was unloaded and put together within a half hour of them arriving. It was amazing.

Update 8/21:
I used Otter moving and again they are awesome! Vuk & Alex were very professional and even offered to do the move despite the building elevator not working. Luckily it was fixed before they started and they were able to use it. I highly recommend using Otter moving, they are 2 for 2 so far with amazing service. Very quick, very professional, very accommodating!

Received great service from Otter Moving. They were able to arrive early despite the snowstorm we had the night before. They moved things quickly and efficiently. They were very patient as i had to reschedule a few times. Will definitely use them again!

Peter and team 57 came in and did an excellent job moving all of our belongings. What I liked the most about his team was their thoughtful and careful handling of fragile and valuable items. Not a single item was broken in the moving process and they moved with speed and efficiency- definitely will use again for my next move!

Petar and team 57 packed up my entire apartment in less than 3 hours. Took great care of all my stuff. And really were truly excellent. Can’t recommend them enough. Great service and excellent pricing and communication. From start to finish it. Was so easy

Peter and Ogi did an amazing job. They were incredibly careful, paid attention to every detail, and really went the extra mile to make sure everything was done right. You can tell they genuinely care about the quality of their work and their customers. They were professional, easy to work with, and made the whole experience stress free.

I can’t even put into words how incredible Brandon from truck 23 was for our move. He moved like a MACHINE. He moved us out of our elevator building in 1 hour exactly (big furniture AND 30 bins). Then moved us in to our 2nd floor walk up in under 2 hours. Everything arrived safely and securely. All furniture was taken apart, wrapped and put back together expertly. Highly highl recommend. I recently moved out of my 4th floor walk up apartment, and team 40 made the experience feel seamless! They showed up on time, and worked fast and efficiently. They were very kind and were respectful of our space, answering all of our questions. Thank you team 40!

Although the initial logistics calls made me a little frustrated as the move was delayed and likely made this move more stressful than necessary, Boris and crew 64 were really great. They were efficient from start to finish, half the stuff was moved out within 5 minutes I couldn’t believe it. Especially when unexpectedly my storage unit was closing early they somehow moved even quicker. Couldn’t be more thankful to them for moving all my things while keeping a positive attitude even with all the time constraints.

Very professional workers. Made moving interstate from NY to NJ very smooth and hassle-free. Kept items in storage for 2 months and the items were in perfect condition coming back. The workers even worked through the rain to deliver my items. Would highly recommend!

My entire experience with Otter Moving could not have been better from start to finish, and this was the best moving experience I have ever had. James was extremely helpful, transparent, attentive, sharp and trustworthy for booking and scheduling. Alex and Kamal were the friendliest, quickest, most efficient, energetic and respectful movers I've ever worked with. They drove several hours from Brooklyn all the way to southern New Jersey to pick up my furniture from a storage unit and drop it off at my Manhattan apartment early on a Saturday morning very quickly. Highly recommend Otter moving as I had an excellent experience moving into storage then into my new place. The rep I worked with, Nash, was very responsive, communicative, and upfront about pricing. Thank you to my movers Vladimir and Kamilo for making my move so easy, they were very kind and efficient and all my stuff made it in good condition and all my furniture re-assembled as it was before! **Brandon is a mover from hell**

Short story: Brandon forgot the bed frame by the elevator at the pick up address, scratched and dented every other piece of furniture, refused to move a few small items that were not on the initial inventory estimate, and tried to fleece me by charging twice Otter's own rate for carrying furniture up some stairs.

I hired Otter for putting my stuff in storage for a couple of months while I sorted things out. I gave an initial inventory and an estimate for the number of boxes for the self packing when I first called. On the day before I the move, I realized I ended up with a few more boxes and forgot to mention the TV brackets and a few other miscallaneous items. Once Brandon arrived, he reviewed the items and first refused to move anything not on the inventory, but then agreed to call the dispatcher Stan to get some items added and have the cost adjusted accordingly. But even then he refused to move some items like the TV bracket to the storage. After he left, I stepped out of the apartment after a few minutes and then found the bed frame right by the elevator!!! I texted him immediately and he said he kept replying that he will pick it up soon, but finally came after almost four hours. All this time, I waited in an empty apartment with nothing to do.

Then when I had the items delivered at my new address a couple of months later, it turned out that the box spring and couch wouldn't fit in the elevator there. Brandon told me he will carry them up the six flight of stairs for *only* $250+250 if I pay by cash, but if they have to call it in, the company will charge even more! I checked with the dispatcher Stan and Stan said it will cost $250 for both!!! Then it turned out there were some items not delivered. Brandon found two items in the truck after I described what they were. A laundry basket with clothes was returned a few days later. But a couple of small chairs were lost. A lot of furniture had dents and scratches on delivery.

Overall, I have not seen a mover with a worse work ethic than Brandon. The only saving grace was the dispatcher/coordinator Stan who seemed fair and on top of things.

Kemo was a good mover and Nihad was good sales rep to work with for a last minute move out + storage in Ridgewood and separate move-in to Sunnyside. Had a studio’s worth of things. They waived a storage fee since they were going to store things just for a few days. Price was an agreed flat fee and reasonable. Recommend having an accurate list of all items and photos if possible for movers to get the most accurate quote

I was quoted on the call for a price for the total of move and the first month of storage fee. I triple checked that the price was including the storage fee and then the day after the move I got automatically charged on my card for the storage fee again on top of the promised quote. I would not have chose this place since the another company offered better pricing. They said they will match it and promised there wouldn’t be any hidden fees on the day of which is why I put the deposit down over the phone. Super disappointing. Nothing against the movers they were great and I would recommend to others but I feel scammed by the company’s dishonest pricing.

A HUGE shout out to Vladimir and Kamilo from Otter for a stellar job with our move! We had a 3-story walk up and I’m not even sure how we got some of our items up there (like the couch), but these guys found a way to make it happen. Insane work ethic. Can’t thank them and Otter enough for making our out-of-state move so seamless. Thank you!

Alex and truck 60 were so helpful and efficient! They got everything moved out of here so quickly and put in so much care to wrap up all my furniture - the entire crew was a pleasure to work with… definitely the easiest move I’ve had so far!

I had been really stressed about how to get all my stuff into storage for a few months in between my moves and Otter has made the process super easy!

Couldn't have had a better move. John and Advin (?) were great. They managed to tetris my stuff into a small storage unit. The price was the best of all the quotes I got. Amazing. Make sure to tip these great movers too. Edit/update Jan 2024 to June 2026 - I always use these guys for moving in NYC. They are the best. Also it doesn't hurt that each one is attractive 🤫

Boris and his team (#64) was very efficient in terms of assisting my mom and I with transferring out stuff from out storage unit to our new apartment. Despite us living on the second floor, with no elevator, they were able to maneuver well up the stairs. I would recommend this moving company to relatives and friends once the opportunity presents itself. Thank you again you guys!!

Fantastic move experience. Professional, on time and no stress! Would use again without hesitation. Stuff for 4 students, out of NYU dorm, to storage and then to off campus apartment. Saved us going up and down stairs in a 4th floor walk up. Could not have been smoother or easier. So easy to work with.

Avoid at all costs. This company was a disaster.

1. It’s been a year now since the move, and they still haven’t reimbursed us the amount they promised, which ironically, is only 10% of the damage/loss they caused during the move (computer and camera).

2. Our move was supposed to be two-part due to holidays. The movers arrived 1 hour late for packing/pick-up and the team didn’t say anything until we asked. When booking the move, they told us no need to come the day before to pack and there would be enough time, but 2/3 through the move, they said they wouldn’t be able to finish and movers needed to leave immediately at the end of moving window. We had to call the company negotiating while movers were ready to leave the mess with us. They ended up sending extra help to finish up. And we had to ask the building to extend the elevator hours and luckily they allowed it.

3. On the day of drop-off, they called 45 minutes after the promised time that they were running late, AGAIN, but “it will be fine”. Later they called again with “no we won’t make it”. We had to book hotel for the night, rebook the elevator for the new place, etc., because once again they couldn’t get the job done.

What stunned us most was the lack of communication, professionalism, accountability, and genuine effort to make things right. Delays and mistakes can happen but how they handle it matters more. Throughout this process, we were repeatedly left chasing answers, negotiating solutions ourselves, and dealing with the consequences of their poor planning and execution.

We were so impressed by the team! The guys who showed up were professional, efficient, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. We would absolutely 10/10 recommend Otter to anyone who is moving in NYC.

We had an above-and-beyond experience with our Otter movers. They were friendly, helpful, and super communicative in our complex, 3-stop move out of a fifth floor walkup delivering to both a storage unit and a house in another state... all in one day! It was a grueling day for them and they had such great attitudes, took such good care, and were so pleasant to work with.

I don’t really write many reviews but Otter deserves recognition for all they did for me. Everything from Max working with me over the phone to figure out what I need and being patient while I had to change and add and subtract items to adding a stop to the actual moving day.
When the day came they made sure to call me 30 minutes before arrival, just like I had requested. They were on time. Here I have to say that Viktor and Angel from truck 41 were amazing. They truly were. I actually really enjoyed their company, and honestly I felt bad that they would not let me help them out even though I offered to do so, so many times!
I have a lot of vintage and mid century modern furniture that are priceless to me and they took great care of protecting EVERYTHING and happy to move stuff out of the way in my storage to get the extra furniture and wrapping it up. Everything went so well for me, and I think it took longer than usual because of this and traffic and Otter, true to the company’s policy did not charge more for all the time the move took. It was a hard move and everyone was amazing.
I would highly recommend calling them up and hiring them every time.

Such a seamless and stress free move; I had the packing, moving and storage service and they handled everything from start to finish with exceptional detail. I cannot recommend enough, and have put several of my friends on their service to which they also had great experiences

After extensive research on moving companies,
I learned that Otter had the most competitive rate. Even though it was a last-minute notice, the staff made sure I was well taken care of until the day of the move. David and Vok provided a seamless, smooth experience for the moving. Couldn’t think of a better company and people!

We had to move out of our college dorm, and the guys from truck #34 were so helpful! They made the experience so smooth, and handled all of our things with care.

If you need help moving out and storing your things over the summer, you should definitely hire them, they do an amazing job!

I'm glad I chose Otter for my specific need, storage for 1-2 weeks to lessen the items for my official move out. Boris and Roberto make a great team! Had to move very last minute. I called with a one day notice and Otter was not only accommodating but flexible and still at a really good price. The day of move not only were they still understanding but also made the move super smooth. The moving guys were the best and beyond helpful and patient. Otter Moving & Storage was great - they are meticulous through the initial planning stage but gave a good deal and was willing to come out to New Jersey to do the move. The movers themselves were efficient, courteous, and offered to help move things that they weren't required to do. They even made a double trip so that none of my belongings were damaged in the move and set up our living room, carpets, bedrooms the way we wanted them. Would absolutely recommend again.
