I needed someone at the last minute (two days prior) for an in-town move, and Otter made it happen. They were excellent to work with, and the guys they sent for the move were great. Kind, helpful and concerned about my belongings. I would highly recommend this company. Really grateful for their service!

My mom and I recently moved into our new apartment. We were so lucky to have Sebaz and Darío to help us! They took care of EVERYTHING!! They arrived on time, made sure our furniture was wrapped up and secured and reached our new apartment without any damages. They were so polite and so extremely helpful! We couldn’t have made this move without them! Thank you both so very much!

Had an incredible experience with Otter moving! From receiving the initial quote to the actual move day, everyone was super communicative, helpful and efficient in handling all aspects of the move.

Highly recommend Otter moving as I had an excellent experience moving into storage then into my new place. The rep I worked with, Nash, was very responsive, communicative, and upfront about pricing. **Brandon is a mover from hell**

Short story: Brandon forgot the bed frame by the elevator at the pick up address, scratched and dented every other piece of furniture, refused to move a few small items that were not on the initial inventory estimate, and tried to fleece me by charging twice Otter's own rate for carrying furniture up some stairs.

I hired Otter for putting my stuff in storage for a couple of months while I sorted things out. I gave an initial inventory and an estimate for the number of boxes for the self packing when I first called. On the day before I the move, I realized I ended up with a few more boxes and forgot to mention the TV brackets and a few other miscallaneous items. Once Brandon arrived, he reviewed the items and first refused to move anything not on the inventory, but then agreed to call the dispatcher Stan to get some items added and have the cost adjusted accordingly. But even then he refused to move some items like the TV bracket to the storage. After he left, I stepped out of the apartment after a few minutes and then found the bed frame right by the elevator!!! I texted him immediately and he said he kept replying that he will pick it up soon, but finally came after almost four hours. All this time, I waited in an empty apartment with nothing to do.

Then when I had the items delivered at my new address a couple of months later, it turned out that the box spring and couch wouldn't fit in the elevator there. Brandon told me he will carry them up the six flight of stairs for *only* $250+250 if I pay by cash, but if they have to call it in, the company will charge even more! I checked with the dispatcher Stan and Stan said it will cost $250 for both!!! Then it turned out there were some items not delivered. Brandon found two items in the truck after I described what they were. A laundry basket with clothes was returned a few days later. But a couple of small chairs were lost. A lot of furniture had dents and scratches on delivery.

Overall, I have not seen a mover with a worse work ethic than Brandon. The only saving grace was the dispatcher/coordinator Stan who seemed fair and on top of things.

Kemo was a good mover and Nihad was good sales rep to work with for a last minute move out + storage in Ridgewood and separate move-in to Sunnyside. Had a studio’s worth of things. They waived a storage fee since they were going to store things just for a few days. Price was an agreed flat fee and reasonable. Recommend having an accurate list of all items and photos if possible for movers to get the most accurate quote

I was extremely satisfied with the entire moving process. I would like to thank Shawn for helping me throughout the process and making everything go smoothly. On the moving day, Balsa and Jose handled the move professionally. They worked quietly, efficiently, and quickly, which made the whole experience stress-free.

If I ever need to move again in the future, I will definitely choose this company without hesitation. I did not experience any of the usual stress that comes with moving day. I am someone who rarely writes reviews, but I truly wanted to leave one for this experience.

Very satisfied with Otter! Communication was very good leading up to the move, pricing was reasonable (cheaper than Piece of Cake for my specific moving day) and they got to my pick up location 30 min earlier than I requested which was great! My movers Sebastian and Carlos (truck 31) handled all items with care and no delicate items broke. Would definitely use again.

I also used the plastic box service rental which was much better than my previous moves where I had to buy all the boxes, do all the assembling/taping, and throw them all out afterward. The boxes are very sturdy so I don’t have to worry about things inside getting damaged when they get stacked.

Note that for moves to NJ/Hoboken it’s very helpful to request temporary no parking passes a week or so before the move. It makes it much easier for the truck on the day of.

Milos and Denis were FANTASTIC! They were incredibly kind, courteous, fast, professional, and efficient. We moved from a townhouse in CT to a townhouse in VA, and our move was no headache at all thanks to Otter Moving! We will absolutely be recommending them to our friends! Thanks again Otter!!

So incredible, I’m very type B and waited until the last minute to book a moving company and they were able to accommodate that and get the COI done in a timely manner, The crew was great and so professional and came right on time. I will refer Otter to all of my friends looking to move.

Viktor and Angel in Truck 41 were incredible! On one of the hottest days of the summer, they handled all of my belongings with great care while working efficiently and professionally. Despite the extreme heat, they completed the move quickly without compromising the quality of their work.

Otter Movers were so helpful! They worked efficiently and quickly, despite extreme heat. They were very organized, making sure they didn’t miss anything on the inventory list. Miles was great to work with. He was very communicative and made sure that everything was organized for our move. I highly recommend for anyone needing movers. I will be sure to use them again when our next move happens.

This is the second time I’ve used Otter and cannot imagine using any other moving company. The first time they moved a large piece of artwork from Manasquan, NJ to my apartment in Brooklyn. They were incredibly transparent with costs, fees, time frame…and moved the item with immense care.
More recently, I had a move from a 2nd floor walk up in Brooklyn to a Jersey City high rise. And again, full transparency with no surprises, incredibly fast and efficient (I also hired them to do partial packing and I should have just had them do it all), handled everything with care. During move in they set up everything that needed to be set up and organized my boxes by room. Without a doubt, their prices are fair, and the peace of mind is invaluable. If you’re looking for a moving company stop here, ignore everyone else. Otter is just fantastic.

I was quoted on the call for a price for the total of move and the first month of storage fee. I triple checked that the price was including the storage fee and then the day after the move I got automatically charged on my card for the storage fee again on top of the promised quote. I would not have chose this place since the another company offered better pricing. They said they will match it and promised there wouldn’t be any hidden fees on the day of which is why I put the deposit down over the phone. Super disappointing. Nothing against the movers they were great and I would recommend to others but I feel scammed by the company’s dishonest pricing.

Viktor and Angel (Truck 41) were great — especially considering this was their fourth job of the day across the tristate. They still brought strong energy and packed everything with real care, particularly the kitchen. What stood out was how thoughtful and creative they were, even using extra boxes and padding to protect a mirror. They worked efficiently without rushing and clearly take pride in their work. Honestly, these two need a raise. Would definitely use them again.

Kemo and Alex are the speediest team ever! they came a little early even and moved everything out of my apartment in well under an hour. they were also both very kind, and even fixed some furniture i had that was loose without me even realising 😂

Kemo and Alex from Otter Moving and Storage are the real deal. These two guys made what is usually one of the most stressful days completely smooth and honestly enjoyable. They were kind, professional, incredibly hard working, and the kind of people you just feel good being around.

What really impressed me is that they pushed through a brutal heat wave without ever slowing down or complaining. True professionals. They went above and beyond in every way, actual white glove service from start to finish.

If you get Kemo and Alex on your move you are lucky. I will be recommending them personally to everyone I know. Otter Moving and Storage should be proud to have these two on their team.

These guys are top notch, they arrive and get busy! They pack secure and move your items with such grace and care. Its very impressive the care they take to make sure everything is fine and up and running on both ends of the move. I couldn't be happier that i chose otter. It was the absolute right choice :)
