I called 5 days prior to my move and was able to get a reasonable quote. Peter took my inventory (5 bedroom home) and was able to give me a quote in 15 minutes. Joe and his crew showed up on time and we went over the inventory. They began wrapping and protecting my furniture with the utmost care. When they arrived at the new home they carefully brought furniture im and reassembled. Not one scratch to my walls or floor! I will recommend everyone use Otto! Movers-Agris, Jose, and Mike were all incredibly helpful — not only did they handle the move itself, but their box and packing service was a total game changer. If you don’t have the time (or energy) to pack everything yourself, it’s absolutely worth it.
The storage option was another huge plus. In NYC, it’s rare to have overlapping leases, so being able to store my belongings during the transition made everything so much less stressful.

I used Otter for the first time after previously working with other moving companies. The experience was seamless from end to end - Tony, Vlad, and Jennifer were very helpful in providing a quote, and updating for changes to my move inventory. The quoting process was very transparent and efficient. I rented plastic bins for packing purposes, and the team was very flexible dropping them off at a time that works for me (including when I needed to request extra be delivered).
Biske and Camilo were my crew on moving day. They were both friendly, courteous, and highly efficient. They showed up at 7am, had my apartment completely packed and loaded by 9am, arrived at the new apartment by 10am and had everything unloaded, in order, and reassembled by 11am, leaving me most of the day to get unpacked and settled. This all made my moving experience a breeze and for a very fair price. I would highly recommend considering Otter for any future moves in the NYC area.
Otter did a great job with my moving process. I used them for taking items from my old apartment, storing the items for a month, then moving them into my new apartment. Blazo and his partner did a great job on my move, they were right on time and everything took under 2.5 hours to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Otter Moving was an overall positive experience for me. They were quick, professional, and careful with all my stuff (nothing broke and everything wrapped/handled beautifully). The staff are nice but do keep to themselves. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they weren't 100% transparent with pricing. I was very clear before the move that my bed frame included storage drawers and that the whole thing would need to be disassembled/reassembled. They did not charge me extra prior but the second the movers showed up they told me they were going to charge an extra $200 for it. I was able to get in touch with the office and they acknowledged that they missed this and provided the service to me for free. I give them credit for handling this exceptionally. Additionally, when booking, the company seems to suggest that wardrobe boxes are included but I was charged for them. They also charged a hefty "special handling" fee for a wardrobe but it was not handled any differently from the rest of my furniture - not disassembled, but simply wrapped and carried. Other companies did not charge me extra for this when I compared quotes. I feel like the company needs to be more transparent about the exact pricing because the reason I chose them was that I thought they were. Note that they do charge for every single box and item you have by the cubic foot, though they are upfront about it! They did include things that other companies don't though - like TV box, mirror box, etc. - this is impressive. Overall, they were professional, swift, and got the job done with no hassle at moderate pricing compared to other companies. I tipped all 3 of my movers $100 each.

This was my first time hiring movers and I have to admit I was nervous, but Milos and Ogi were wonderful! Super efficient and careful with our furniture. There were multiple pieces we weren't sure would fit through the door that they got out easily without scraping (but of course they were also carefully padded in case of bumps). I also had them handle my detolf (full glass shelf) which I was very stressed about and they were very reassuring through the process as well as good about protecting the shelf. Would definitely work with this moving company again.

I booked Otter to move my most precious possession, an upright piano, plus of course furniture and boxes. Vlad kept me updated on timing the day of the move (and before as well), the guys were very professional and wrapped my piano like a baby and moved it down 1 flight of stairs! Wrapped all my furniture and even took last minute items, which helped! The move went smoothly and they were fast and friendly. I would use them again in a cinch! But hopefully this is my last move :) Plus, it's a small company and they can definitely use word of mouth to grow their business and compete with larger companies. I was in need of a company to move a machine from Connecticut to New York. I was a bit worried about having a moving company move the equipment rather than a rigging company. I contacted Otter Moving and spoke to Adam on the phone. Adam was very professional and explained in detail exactly how he planned on moving the machine. He was confident with the move so I decided to give him a chance and I am glad I did. The team at Otter Moving did an amazing job with the move and I would definitely use them again in the future.

As everyone, packing and moving was very stressful for me and I was a mess packing as I was supposed to pack in the boxes but there were multiple grocery bags instead. However, Otter staff were so nice and put the bags in their boxes and move them in one go without damaging anything. They pack my mattresses, TV and mirror so well too. Needless to say, they were super fast packing as well as unpacking and reassembling things. The move only took like 2 and 1/2 hours including more than 1 hour in traffic. The price was very reasonable and they were very efficient too, I’m definitely using the service if I were to move again.
