I had a phenomenal experience with Otter. I moved a 1 bedroom from Brooklyn NY to Boston MA. My admin person, Peter, was organized, a clear communicator and so kind. He helped me navigate all the preplanning & negotiated a *very* good rate in comparison to other companies. He took great care in answering all my questions and easing any worry.

The movers, Milos & Dennis did a fantastic job as well. They moved out my stuff in about 4.5 hours, drove it up to Boston & moved it into my new place about 3 hours (all in one day!!!!). It was 90+ degrees and there were alot of stairs at both apartments. They were fast and efficient even as a two man team. I was so impressed with how much care and attention went into wrapping and packing my belongings. They are definitely experts. I so appreciate their hard work. This was my 4th move in 7 years and the first time I hired a company like this. I will NEVER go back to doing it myself & would highly recommend Otter (and specifically this dream team of Peter, Milos & Dennis!!!) to any of my friends and family.

I had a fantastic experience from start to finish. When requesting a quote, Otter reached out to me immediately and walked me through everything I needed to move. They were incredibly professional, kind, and affordable. Close to moving day, they followed up and allowed me to adjust my itemized list with ease and even reminded me about the ability to pay with a debit card to avoid the 3% service fee with credit cards.
On the day-of, Stefan and his team arrived on time (with a heads up before their arrival) and were incredibly nice and speedy. They handled my items with care and moved everything across town safely. They were patient when it took a while to find a parking space at my new apartment.
Truthfully, I would use Otter again in a heartbeat. I could not have asked for a more seamless, helpful, and stress-free experience moving.

Our experience with this company was very poor. The movers came much later than their scheduled time frame and then after taking pictures explained that there were “things on our furniture” and they weren’t able to do the move. The customer service was extremely poor and “David Pavlovic” was very rude and dismissive and would not clearly explain what was preventing the movers from starting. He spent far more time going back and forth with me that they couldn’t start and because it was late said that “typically they would charge a $250 rescheduling fee”. It was insulting for him to say that as if they weren’t the ones who would not comply with us or try to work with us after waiting all day for them. Because we had a later slot it was clear that they did not want to work late since by the time they said they couldn’t do it, it was 8pm which is a whole hour outside of the 4-7pm window we were given. On the next day two different mover came. They increased my quote by about $400 but by then I needed to move and paid them. The new movers worked quickly and efficiently. They were nice and professional and did a good job. I’m struggling to recommend this company since my experience was very mixed

This was the most stress-free move I've experienced in NYC. A friend had told me about Otter, and I gave Otter a chance. Otter has great customer service, particularly Hans and Pablo, who helped me organize the move with an accurate and prompt quote, and updated the quote in real time when I had 2 last-minute changes. The movers themselves -- Team 57 (Petar, Jesus, and third mover whose name I did not get) -- were incredibly professional, understanding, efficient, and friendly, and I would want them to help me again in the future. No broken glasses, no damaged furniture. Would definitely use again and refer to friends.

Otter did a great job, their pricing was transparent and the team did a great job with scheduling and talking me through what to expect for my quote price. They were very available and quick to respond to my questions.

On the actual moving day, Alex from truck 60 and his crew did a great job. They were speedy, professional and handled my items with care. My furniture was packed very well and the team was in and out quickly and efficiently. They made the move easy and I would definitely book them again and recommend to friends.

**REAL REVIEW**

Sometimes when you see an overwhelming amount of positive reviews it's natural to be a little suspicious. I can reassure everyone that my experience that of what's been said so far - a fairly priced, efficient and high quality move. I reached out to Otter Moving to move some furniture from our Brooklyn condo to our lake house 3 hours away. Ben coordinated our move and was very helpful and responsive. In one day he was able to get me a quote and COI. The price was very fair - I got quotes from 3 other companies and theirs was within the middle of the range. The move itself was flawless - they showed up when they said they would, efficiently packed up our stuff in Brooklyn and arrived and unpacked without a hitch.

I highly recommend Otter moving for your move, and can especially vouch for their expertise in mid to long distance moves!

Team 40 was excellent, efficient, diligent, and professional. They took great care of my belongings and helped me with a very stressful move. They worked very fast even though I was still packing as they were working. They helped me take down my furniture and set it back up. I had a difficult bed frame and they managed to move it into my new place. Also the company provides movers with supplies to protect your belongings. I would definitely move with this company again!

Had a great experience with Otter Moving Company. Mez and Raul Truck #18 were fantastic. It was incredibly hot and humid, and they were completely drenched by the end of the move, but they never slowed down or complained once. They just kept working hard and got everything done with a great attitude.

They were careful with all of my belongings, worked efficiently, and nothing was broken or damaged. They made what could have been a really stressful day feel easy.

Mez and Raul were professional, friendly, and genuinely hardworking. Otter is lucky to have them, and I hope they get the recognition they deserve and plenty more work. I would happily recommend Otter Moving Company to anyone, especially if you get the Truck #18 crew. Thank you!

My entire experience with Otter Moving could not have been better from start to finish, and this was the best moving experience I have ever had. James was extremely helpful, transparent, attentive, sharp and trustworthy for booking and scheduling. Alex and Kamal were the friendliest, quickest, most efficient, energetic and respectful movers I've ever worked with. They drove several hours from Brooklyn all the way to southern New Jersey to pick up my furniture from a storage unit and drop it off at my Manhattan apartment early on a Saturday morning very quickly. I am extremely grateful for this experience and will be recommending them to anyone in NYC, and will use them whenever I need movers again. Thank you Otter Moving team!

Had an incredible experience with Otter moving! From receiving the initial quote to the actual move day, everyone was super communicative, helpful and efficient in handling all aspects of the move.

We also had the best movers - team #40! They were careful with our belongings and were so thoughtful in making sure everything was handled with care.

Highly recommend Otter moving as I had an excellent experience moving into storage then into my new place. The rep I worked with, Nash, was very responsive, communicative, and upfront about pricing. Thank you to my movers Vladimir and Kamilo for making my move so easy, they were very kind and efficient and all my stuff made it in good condition and all my furniture re-assembled as it was before! **Brandon is a mover from hell**

Short story: Brandon forgot the bed frame by the elevator at the pick up address, scratched and dented every other piece of furniture, refused to move a few small items that were not on the initial inventory estimate, and tried to fleece me by charging twice Otter's own rate for carrying furniture up some stairs.

I hired Otter for putting my stuff in storage for a couple of months while I sorted things out. I gave an initial inventory and an estimate for the number of boxes for the self packing when I first called. On the day before I the move, I realized I ended up with a few more boxes and forgot to mention the TV brackets and a few other miscallaneous items. Once Brandon arrived, he reviewed the items and first refused to move anything not on the inventory, but then agreed to call the dispatcher Stan to get some items added and have the cost adjusted accordingly. But even then he refused to move some items like the TV bracket to the storage. After he left, I stepped out of the apartment after a few minutes and then found the bed frame right by the elevator!!! I texted him immediately and he said he kept replying that he will pick it up soon, but finally came after almost four hours. All this time, I waited in an empty apartment with nothing to do.

Then when I had the items delivered at my new address a couple of months later, it turned out that the box spring and couch wouldn't fit in the elevator there. Brandon told me he will carry them up the six flight of stairs for *only* $250+250 if I pay by cash, but if they have to call it in, the company will charge even more! I checked with the dispatcher Stan and Stan said it will cost $250 for both!!! Then it turned out there were some items not delivered. Brandon found two items in the truck after I described what they were. A laundry basket with clothes was returned a few days later. But a couple of small chairs were lost. A lot of furniture had dents and scratches on delivery.

Overall, I have not seen a mover with a worse work ethic than Brandon. The only saving grace was the dispatcher/coordinator Stan who seemed fair and on top of things.

Kemo was a good mover and Nihad was good sales rep to work with for a last minute move out + storage in Ridgewood and separate move-in to Sunnyside. Had a studio’s worth of things. They waived a storage fee since they were going to store things just for a few days. Price was an agreed flat fee and reasonable. Recommend having an accurate list of all items and photos if possible for movers to get the most accurate quote

I was extremely satisfied with the entire moving process. I would like to thank Shawn for helping me throughout the process and making everything go smoothly. On the moving day, Balsa and Jose handled the move professionally. They worked quietly, efficiently, and quickly, which made the whole experience stress-free.

If I ever need to move again in the future, I will definitely choose this company without hesitation. I did not experience any of the usual stress that comes with moving day. I am someone who rarely writes reviews, but I truly wanted to leave one for this experience.

Very satisfied with Otter! Communication was very good leading up to the move, pricing was reasonable (cheaper than Piece of Cake for my specific moving day) and they got to my pick up location 30 min earlier than I requested which was great! My movers Sebastian and Carlos (truck 31) handled all items with care and no delicate items broke. Would definitely use again.

I also used the plastic box service rental which was much better than my previous moves where I had to buy all the boxes, do all the assembling/taping, and throw them all out afterward. The boxes are very sturdy so I don’t have to worry about things inside getting damaged when they get stacked.

Note that for moves to NJ/Hoboken it’s very helpful to request temporary no parking passes a week or so before the move. It makes it much easier for the truck on the day of.
