A very positive experience.One piece of advice-be very precise with your inventory list, cross check the list with the movers upon arrival and don't expect them or ask them to move any items not previously submitted when calculating your estimate. This will make for a smoother move.

The men from Otter was simply fabulous. They were fast as lightening, careful and considerate. They go above and beyond to make their customers happy. The prices are super reasonable. They moved me into a rehabilitation facility and even impressed the front desk and staff!!

We hired Otter Moving & Storage to help us with a significant office move that included packing up and moving a couple thousand books from a library. They were FANTASTIC! Thorough, careful, punctual, and easy to work with from start to finish.

John was our main point of contact and was clear and communicative. The moving team was wonderful, treating the items with utmost care and making sure the books were carefully packed and boxes were clearly labeled.

Wow I never thought I would be writing a positive review of an NYC moving company, but we had a wonderful experience with Otter! I called at 9pm and was able to schedule a last minute next day move at a really reasonable price. The movers were communicative (texted when they were on their way), timely, and took great care with our possessions. I even got a call from Greg who I had booked the move with while it was going on to check if everything was going smoothly.
I truly am not used to having such great experiences with movers, and I've moved A LOT. I can't recommend Otter enough and will definitely hire them for my next move!

I recently used Otter Moving Company for my move from a 5th-floor walk-up in Brooklyn to my new apartment, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience.
From start to finish, Simon—who handled my invoicing and coordination—was incredibly professional, responsive, and organized. I had reached out to about five different companies for quotes, and Otter not only gave me the most reasonable price( almost half of the others), but also delivered service that far exceeded my expectations. The 4-man crew led by Diego was absolutely fantastic. They arrived on time, worked at an impressive pace, and handled everything with great care. Even though my move ended up being much larger than planned (from 20 boxes to over 50!), they managed the extra load effortlessly. The team took care of disassembly, careful packing, and reassembly of all my furniture exactly according to my layout.
Despite the challenge of a 5th-floor walk-up and the added volume, they finished everything in just a couple of hours—efficient, friendly, and highly professional throughout.
I was honestly in awe of how smoothly everything went. If you’re looking for movers who are fast, reliable, careful, and fairly priced, I cannot recommend Otter, Simon, and Diego’s crew enough. They made what could have been a really really stressful day completely seamless!

Otter movers were helpful from the booking, to any rescheduling, requesting of COI. The move itself was efficient and the movers were careful with my belongings. I had a small move, probably bedroom size. And they charged much less than some others out there.

I just moved from Brooklyn to New Jersey this past weekend and used Otter moving for the first time. The crew was on time and really great. Even with the traffic from Brooklyn to Jersey they did the whole move in 3 hrs. Lovely experience from quote to booking to moving. Daniel and Josue were great. Would definitely use them again in the future!

Agris and Jose were amazing — truly life savers. They moved my entire apartment (a large studio) in an hour and a half beginning to end. I had MANY fragile items and was worried I’d see a broken dish or two, but they took care of each box and item of mine. They were kind and communicative and constantly checked in on whether they were putting things in the right place.

I was hesitant to use Otter since this is the first time I’ve actually used movers but I’m VERY happy. Thanks Agris and Jose, and Luke who helped find a more convenient time for me!

This team is special. Had the GM contact me after an issue came up after this move, and made sure to help. Offered to send a follow up team to come help with my issue, and made sure to make me feel heard. This company is bootstrapped, and I almost don’t want them to grow because of the care and attention they’re able to give at the scale they’re at. This is one of those rare businesses that does good work and delivers high quality customer service.

(And I’m kidding, I hope you guys grow!)

These guys were amazing from start to finish. They showed up right on time, worked super fast, and were really professional the whole way through. Everything was handled with care, and they got the job done way quicker than I expected. Moving can be stressful, but they made it easy. Highly recommend Otter Moving to anyone who wants a smooth, hassle-free move!

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. They refused to try taking apart a bookcase and also tried to leave things behind in our apartment because the quote was locked (why did they lock it before finishing? We would have paid more for extra packing and made that clear!). This included trying to leave valuable paintings behind on the walls we asked to have taken down. They said the truck was full? It was not. Anyways they also arrived laid when we paid extra for a specific arrival time. So it was not the best experience sadly.

The team that helped me move the morning of 10/24 was absolutely amazing!! They were so professional, personable, their patients was amazing!! They took care of everything with care!! Whatever incentives you can provide the team, do make sure they are compensated. I have no complaints and I will use your company again and refer in the future.

Lucky, Marko, Santiago just finished an all day move with me from Queens to Westchester. They packed everything and wound up filling an entire 26’ truck, also stopping at a storage unit. They also figured out solutions to getting stuff into the new location. Professional, fast and thorough. You’d be lucky to get this crew at your move. Highly recommend.

Wow! Josue and Daniel were absolutely amazing! My mom and I were so impressed. They were super nice, friendly, and patient the whole time. We used Otter Movers today, and even with no elevator to our 3rd-floor apartment, they nailed it like pros!

Amazing experience using Otter Moving! Quick and efficient. Took under 3 hours from start to finish and they took down and assembled my bed and set all the other furniture wherever I wanted. The crew were extremely friendly as well! Very satisfied!

Customer service is EXCELLENT. My the moment Luke called about my request for a quote, I felt like the move was totally taken care of… and for a fair price. Everyone I dealt with on the phone was friendly, helpful and readily available.

Then— the movers I had (Agris and Jose) were epic! Totally professional, extremely fast, efficient and organized. I’m genuinely amazed at how smooth everything went.

Honestly good. Moving sucks, but our experience with Otter made it suck less. We did full packing and move. We had never hired packers before and it was really worth it - careful & efficient. Otter worked with us on price, some flexibility in day-of # of items, really speedy. Peter was a great and responsive coordinator and Mario oversaw a highly efficient move. Would recommend.

Everyone at Otter made the experience so seamless and easy. I had a two part move, with some things going into storage out of state and some things moving locally. My rep Greg was so kind and prompt over text. He was flexible and even was able to adjust the move date when a storm was forecasted for the original date. The move team were clear pros. Otter Moving & Storage is a must!!! My move was a bit last minute, but they accommodated my schedule effortlessly. I’m so glad I found a moving company that’s reliable, efficient, reasonably priced, and genuinely careful with every step of the process.

Stephan and Shawn were patient and friendly throughout the customer service process. Movers-Agris, Jose, and Mike were all incredibly helpful — not only did they handle the move itself, but their box and packing service was a total game changer. If you don’t have the time (or energy) to pack everything yourself, it’s absolutely worth it.

The storage option was another huge plus. In NYC, it’s rare to have overlapping leases, so being able to store my belongings during the transition made everything so much less stressful.

Pro tip: try to book them outside the beginning or end of the month — you’ll likely save money!

The best moving experience I’ve had in New York. Extremely impressed by how fast the movers work and how efficient they are. Also the price point was great, better than everyone else in the market. Would definitely recommend and will be using Otter Moving again in the future.

Just finished moving from Manhattan to Brooklyn and the experience was easy and quick. Worked with Izzy of Team 16 and he was phenomenal, professional and so accommodating. While moving is always stressful, they made it as smooth as possible which is greatly appreciated.

I had a great experience with Otter moving. I worked with John on my quote and he was very friendly and communicative. The quote was the lowest I got compared to a few other well known services, and there were no surprise extra charges. Blazo and his partner did a great job on my move, they were right on time and everything took under 2.5 hours to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn. They protected my furniture with blankets and had extra boxes for my monitor. Very smooth and pleasant experience, definitely recommend!

This was my first time hiring movers and I have to admit I was nervous, but Milos and Ogi were wonderful! Super efficient and careful with our furniture. There were multiple pieces we weren't sure would fit through the door that they got out easily without scraping (but of course they were also carefully padded in case of bumps). I also had them handle my detolf (full glass shelf) which I was very stressed about and they were very reassuring through the process as well as good about protecting the shelf. Would definitely work with this moving company again.
