The moving crew did an absolutely amazing job from start to finish. They arrived right on time and immediately got to work. They handled both the packing and unpacking quickly and efficiently, while still being extremely careful with all of my belongings. Everything went so smoothly and stress-free thanks to their organization, teamwork, and professionalism. They were respectful, friendly, and made the entire process so much easier than I expected. On top of that, they cleaned up after themselves and left everything neat, organized, and exactly where I wanted it. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication. I will definitely be using this moving company for all of my future moves and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and professional team.

The best moving service i’ve ever used. I booked last minute because the original company I had booked cancelled on me 4 days prior to my move with no notice or reason. Otter Moving and Storage was not only able to get my move scheduled on the day and time that I preferred, but also able to offer me a great rate, even though it was a last minute booking. Customer service was amazing and they were so helpful through the whole process. The movers showed up on time and worked at a fast pace while ensuring all of my belongings were protected. I was truly shocked at how quick they were, even in the heat we’re experiencing. I’m glad I found an amazing company that I can trust with my future moves. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

The move with Truck #30 crew (Blazo, Uros, and Michelle) was a pure breeze and the best one I’ve ever had! I’m not saying that lightly as I moved 15-20 time over my life, both within the US and internationally, and had all kind of good and bad experiences. The guys were very friendly, and worked fast, efficiently, and with utmost care for my belongings. All the furniture, electronics, and paintings were properly packed and transported without any damage and unpacked and setup in my new place. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I wholeheartedly recommend Otter Moving & Storage (especially Truck #30) for any of your moving needs in the NYC/NJ area!

I was told 4 movers were coming but only 2 came. It took them the whole day to move my stuff. Grant it there was a miscommunication on how many storage rooms needed to be moved. Both movers asked and pushed for 20% tip and argued with me when they didn’t get it.

John, the customer service agent I spoke with A LOT, was truly outstanding. My situation was a bit complicated, but he showed so much patience and compassion, which made the entire experience stress-free.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. They refused to try taking apart a bookcase and also tried to leave things behind in our apartment because the quote was locked (why did they lock it before finishing? We would have paid more for extra packing and made that clear!). This included trying to leave valuable paintings behind on the walls we asked to have taken down. They said the truck was full? It was not. Anyways they also arrived laid when we paid extra for a specific arrival time. So it was not the best experience sadly.

Lucky, Marko, Santiago just finished an all day move with me from Queens to Westchester. They packed everything and wound up filling an entire 26’ truck, also stopping at a storage unit. They also figured out solutions to getting stuff into the new location. Professional, fast and thorough. You’d be lucky to get this crew at your move. Highly recommend.

Otter Moving & Storage is a must!!! My move was a bit last minute, but they accommodated my schedule effortlessly. I’m so glad I found a moving company that’s reliable, efficient, reasonably priced, and genuinely careful with every step of the process.

Stephan and Shawn were patient and friendly throughout the customer service process. Movers-Agris, Jose, and Mike were all incredibly helpful — not only did they handle the move itself, but their box and packing service was a total game changer. If you don’t have the time (or energy) to pack everything yourself, it’s absolutely worth it.

The storage option was another huge plus. In NYC, it’s rare to have overlapping leases, so being able to store my belongings during the transition made everything so much less stressful.

Pro tip: try to book them outside the beginning or end of the month — you’ll likely save money!

I had a great experience with Otter. They moved me out, held my stuff in storage for a month, and moved me in to my new apartment. Scheduling was easy and communication was great. The movers were friendly, fast, and attentive in caring for my furniture. Thank you Daniel and Josue for moving me into a 5th floor walk up😭 not an easy move, but they were so friendly and sweet.

Otter Moving was an overall positive experience for me. They were quick, professional, and careful with all my stuff (nothing broke and everything wrapped/handled beautifully). The staff are nice but do keep to themselves. The only thing I was disappointed about was that they weren't 100% transparent with pricing. I was very clear before the move that my bed frame included storage drawers and that the whole thing would need to be disassembled/reassembled. They did not charge me extra prior but the second the movers showed up they told me they were going to charge an extra $200 for it. I was able to get in touch with the office and they acknowledged that they missed this and provided the service to me for free. I give them credit for handling this exceptionally. Additionally, when booking, the company seems to suggest that wardrobe boxes are included but I was charged for them. They also charged a hefty "special handling" fee for a wardrobe but it was not handled any differently from the rest of my furniture - not disassembled, but simply wrapped and carried. Other companies did not charge me extra for this when I compared quotes. I feel like the company needs to be more transparent about the exact pricing because the reason I chose them was that I thought they were. Note that they do charge for every single box and item you have by the cubic foot, though they are upfront about it! They did include things that other companies don't though - like TV box, mirror box, etc. - this is impressive. Overall, they were professional, swift, and got the job done with no hassle at moderate pricing compared to other companies. I tipped all 3 of my movers $100 each.

Lucky and his team were incredible. They were prompt, professional, and very helpful coordinating everything the day of the move. They were extremely careful with our belongings and communicative while packing and moving everything. We’re so grateful for all of their hard work!!!

Had a great experience with Otter Moving. We used them for storage and delivery, and for a big full-day move. Hans was great helping me set up the moves. Both moving teams we worked with were exceptional. They were very concerned to place things the way we wanted them, and handled our fragile items and artwork really well. I would absolutely recommend them and would use them again. We've moved a lot and this was absolutely the most pleasant experience we've had.

I had an excellent experience with Otter’s moving & storage services. John was helpful and efficient with giving me a quote and setting up the move. I had to change my moving date after booking due to an unforeseen circumstance and they were extremely accommodating. On the day of the move, two movers came for my 1 bedroom apartment and took great care in wrapping my furniture and belongings. I’m utilizing their long term storage services. I chose Otter due to their affordable pricing of both the move and storage and their excellent reviews. Everyone I came in contact with from the company was very pleasant and helpful, which was a plus.

The best moving experience! This was our first time moving across states from Brooklyn, NY to Charlotte, NC and Otter Moving & Storage not only had the best price point, but also incredible service. Our movers, Z & MJ from Truck #12, were fast, efficient, careful and completed the move seamlessly. They picked up all of our items Saturday morning (August 23) and we had everything in Charlotte unloaded in our new home by 10:30 AM Monday morning (August 25). They even took extra items at no additional charge and they handled our belongings with care / were great listeners as well. I highly recommend this moving company - from the initial conversation with Mark and securing the reasonable estimate, to the quick move, everything went smoothly and stress-free. We will definitely use them again in the future if they expand and have trucks in NC as well :)

Otter was very reasonably price compared to some of the other major moving companies in NYC. We needed short term storage and they offered free storage for up to 14 days, and our total move costs with storage ended up being less expensive than a one way move without storage. They had good availability in terms of days and times for moving, as we were in a very fluid situation about our move-in date, and they were able to accommodate us even during the busy end of month and summer moving time. Movers were also efficient and none of our furniture or boxes were damaged.

They say 3rd times a charm . After being put through the ringer by 2 other companies I came accross Otter Moving & Storage and damn I wish I found them first . This guy Simon took down the particulars you pack and take care of what you can , they'll finish and although I was worried , trust me , relax. These guys are real professionals.

My moving situation was especially chaotic — some things went into storage, some things went to another address, and unforeseen issues kept arising — but the movers handled everything in a very friendly and efficient manner. Coordinating the logistics with Peter over the phone was also very easy. Very professional movers. Before I hired another company Dumbo moving &storage, they just wasted my time, when their movers went in & they saw furniture, they said it’s very heavy we can’t do it. But this company OTTER They know what to do in tough situations and how to carry heavy furnitures. They wrapped all the furniture to prevent scratches. My china cabinet was very big and really heavy but three boys(don’t know their names) did an awesome job. They even called me after to find out if everything went well and if i had any concerns. I would highly recommend them if you need movers. Thank you so much guys for making everything easy for me.

I called many different places trying to get an original quote and Otter moving was by far the most affordable and also took such good care of my things. I was only supposed to have my things in storage for 7 days and it turned into 2.5 months, the pickup and delivery process was so smooth and efficient. I recently moved with Otter Moving & Storage. We moved a full 1 bedroom "pre-packed" with moving locations 7 minutes apart each other. The first apartment was located on the ground floor, the second an elevator building with exclusive access. We had minimal furniture and though our final inventory list (boxes & bags) ended up being larger than the original agreed upon list, Otter worked on fair pricing for us. The move was completed by two guys in two hours! My only suggestion is to have a full list of inventory ready before confirming your appointment. However, the Otter team will connect with you before and after your move if needed.

10/10 quality of service for the price!! I moved from New York to Boston and Otter Moving & Storage was supportive, efficient and helpful in all aspects of the moving process! Had a fabulous experience with Otter Moving and Storage. They gave me a quick and accurate quote (very reasonable), were very flexible when our moving date changed several times due to issues with a closing date. On moving date they arrived right on time in our home in Connecticut and were done loading items quickly and off to Brooklyn where they made one more stop to pick up more items and then off to the final destination in Brooklyn. Everything arrived in perfect order, they were very attentive to our requests that certain things be unloaded before others (ie an area rug) and put all items exactly where we requested. Otter Moving & Storage is a 1st class company. The guys who moved my things from a storage unit to my new apartment were efficient, energetic and professional. They communicated with me as they loaded their van to let me know of any items damaged by a previous removal company and helped me dispose of them. The service I received from Hans both prior - getting quotes and confirming date & time - and following my move to make sure I was happy with the service was exceptional. I’ve used other removal companies like Clutter in the past who claim to care but don’t. These guys care and that matters to me. Thanks Otter!

Great service and experience overall. I emailed on a Monday and received a text and call shortly after that and everything was arranged within an hour for a move in 5 days. They are responsive to any questions or issues and were super fast in getting the Certificate of Insurance filled out and sent to me. The actual process was easier than I could've imagined; got a storage unit loaded and unloaded into my apartment within 3 hours.

I used them for moving out of my old apartment, storage, and moving into my new place all in the span of a month. Everything was seamless and stress-free. They were on time, very efficient (took about an hour each time) to pack my belongings and furniture during move-out, and also re-assembling during move-in. I had fragile glass furniture (table and desk) and an expensive desktop workstation that they handled with care and delivered in perfect condition. Highly recommend and will be relying on them for future moves!

Jaoquin and his crew moved me from an apartment to their storage (at least 90 boxes and large furniture items), then two weeks later from storage to new apartment. Everything went smoothly.

My move coordinator Advan was responsive to all my questions, and overall communication was great. No surprise hidden fees, they stuck to their original quote, which was quite reasonable. Most importantly, everything arrived intact, nothing damaged. Would not hesitate to use them again!

Happy to recommend this business. Especially because of their communication and flexibility. I did 1 move, storage for a month followed by another move. We had a few hiccups along the way but they went the extra mile to fix them. Extra insurance is recommended if you move valuable stuff.

I have an incredible experience with Otter last month! First, Advan was super helpful during the booking process as I was exploring various dates, times, and also was still working through my inventory. He was super helpful. Then, on the day of, Vlad was super communicative. I booked the afternoon slot, but at 10am I received a call that the morning slot person had 4x the amount of things they promised, and that it would undoubtedly delay my slot. Vlad said he'd call at 1pm with an update and at 12:58pm he called with an update. He promised that my move would still happen that day, but that it just might be later into the evening. At 4pm he called me with another update and then at 4:15 the driver Slav called me to let me know that he was 15 min out. Although they arrived 30 minutes late, I so appreciated how communicative and proactive they were.

Then once Slav and his team arrived, they moved my entire studio apartment out in under 45 min. They wrapped up everything so carefully and also communicated with me what they were doing and when. It was so great. I'm also using them for storage and will post again when I receive my items.

Edit after moving out of storage to the new apartment: We had a positive experience with Slav and team during the second half of our moving process as well. They unloaded all of our boxes and furniture quickly and carefully. The team was incredibly patient and took their time to make sure everything was placed in the right rooms for easy unpacking. I got A LOT of quotes for my move within Brooklyn and Otter’s quote was by far the best! (They matched PoC for me and gave me a small discount!) They were so easy to work with, especially as I needed to edit my inventory list. All their replies were super quick too. The move itself also went quite smooth - I had a lot of odd shaped items, SO many large boxes, a stop at a storage unit, and a very heavy sleeper sofa which they handled so well even moving into a 4th floor walk up!!!! Such a hardworking team and such a tough job. I would truly highly recommend Otter - every step of the process was a total breeze for me and I am so appreciative of them!!

My moving time was between 12 pm - 3 pm. Got a call in the morning that the crew was available earlier. They arrived by 10:15 am and moved 88 boxes from my apartment to storage in less than 90 minutes. Nice guys, will use again. Great price also nobody came near their price.

I used Otter Moving for moving out, storage for a few days, and then moving into my new apartment. Diego and his team moved me out of my old apartment and Duke and team moved me into my new one. Both teams were exceptional. Otter was also very competitive with their pricing and there weren't any hidden fees. I worked with Marc while booking everything and he was very transparent. Both teams came during the scheduled time window. All of my things were handled with immense care- nothing was broken and it's clear that my things were stored in a temperature controlled environment as none of my makeup melted or was ruined (being stored in the heat wave NYC is currently experiencing). Diego and team helped with furniture disassembly and then Duke and team reassembled everything else. Lastly, although it has nothing to do with moving itself, as a single woman alone in my apartment with three male movers from each team, every single one of them was respectful and I never once felt uncomfortable or unsafe. They were SO FAST and worked in an extremely speedy manner to get everything loaded up on the truck and ready for our new apartment. This is probably the fastest move we've ever had (and we've moved quite a few times). The team started loading up the van at 7:30am, and we were basically finished with our move to the new place by 12pm -- which is NUTS! They were super sweet, professional, friendly, and very understanding when we had a few items that we'd forgotten to stow away/pack appropriately. They secured all of our items and everything was delivered safe & sound, clean with 0 damage. I forgot to mention, the day we had them booked was an extremely RAINY day, and the fact that they worked through the rain with such professionalism was an added cherry on top.
